    Festival Parade of Boats

    The Super Boat Grand Prix parade is impressive, with many of the teams displaying their boats on a slow troll down Main Street and Capt. Edgar Hansen (of TV’s “Deadliest Catch” fame) serving as grand marshal, but this year offers an even bigger thrill: Nik Wallenda will return from his triumphant crossing of the Grand Canyon to the adoration of locals and race fans.

    Always a favorite spectacle at Powerboats By The Bay, for obvious reasons. Go ahead and gawk, that’s what the event is for. Cash prizes range from $1000 for first to $100 for fourth.

    We the Kings

    We The Kings, the Bradenton-based band with an international following, will brings its emotive pop-punk just over the Skyway bridge to Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. The show is part of the group’s Summer Fest tour that features opening acts Breathe Carolina, T. Mills and The Ready Set.
