    Bradenton Blues Festival

    With the glimmering, new Riverwalk as a backdrop, eight acts will christen the first annual Bradenton Blues Festival on Saturday (Dec. 1). Spearheaded by Johnette Isham, executive director of the nonprofit Realize Bradenton, and her team, the concert along the Manatee River will feature a blend of local and national talent.  See the performers:

    Kenny Neal

    This New Orleans, La. native learned the musical ropes from his father, Raful Neal, the acclaimed singer and blues harmonica player. Kenny Neal is known for his swamp-bluesy Louisiana sound and multi-instrumental skills. kennyneal.net.

    Dave “Biscuit” Miller

    Raised on Chicago’s south side and now based in Indiana, singer-bassist Miller is a blues, funk and soul man. He plays more than 250 gigs annually, and has performed alongside George “Mojo” Buford (formerly with Muddy Waters) and Lady Blue (the backup vocalist for Ike and Tina Turner). biscuitmiller.com/biscuit.

    A harmonica player and vocalist from New Orleans, La., Sansone is an award-winning musician who has frequently topped the Louisiana charts. His popular albums include “Poor Man’s Paradise” (on an independent label) and “Crescent City Moon” (Rounder Records). johnnysansone.com.

    Homemade Jamz

    The “youngest blues band in America,” Homemade Jamz is made up of members Ryan, Kyle and Taya Perry (all siblings ages 13 to 19). The trio will perform at Friday’s “Blues in the Schools” event for high school students. hmjamzbluesband.com.

    Ben Prestage

    With his swamp and delta blues style, Prestage is a one-man band who plays homemade guitars and drums. The award-winning songwriter is lauded for his finger picking on the banjo, as well as his harmonica and fiddle skills. benprestagemusic.com.

no comments as of 0910 hrs......these guys played their hearts out and you rebs wont even say a thing,,,,must have been the free food at Yoders from after the concert to 0610 hrs.......btw, the best food in world to eat chicken or meatloaf..., I missed it because being a yankee snow bird with metal spikes in my tires given out at exit 210 south 1 75, even with a gps, I could not find it except 3000 cars a mile to hell and back, btw did you open with that one?........ I want to know where I can eat fried Kreplach and onions? Some place opened at a stop sign with a guy who said he made them, I told him he was fool of it, I can just see the farmers eating fried Kreplach with "onions"
