Unconditional Surrender statue in downtown Sarasota / H-T ARCHIVE

The Second Annual Unconditional Surrender VJ Day Celebration – This patriotic event will be held at Bayfront Park at the Unconditional Surrender Statue. Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) marked the end of World War II, when it was announced that Japan had surrendered unconditionally to the Allies. All are welcome to attend this celebration sponsored and supported by the Unconditional Surrender Veteran's Group. Saturday Farmers Market  The Sarasota Farmers Market Vendors is a non-profit organization dedicated to continuing the three-decade tradition of enhancing  the quality of life in Sarasota, even in the sizzling days of summer.
