Cigar City Brewing does not yet know how many memberships to its El Catador Club will be available to first-time participants, but if you're interested, mark your calendar for Sunday.
Sign-ups will begin at 2 p.m. in the overflow parking area across Spruce Street from the brewery, the same location where last year's sales were staged. No money will be exchanged; instead, new members will be given a member number and an access code to complete the transaction online.
Any remaining slots not filled by 7 p.m. Monday will be made available for online purchase on Tuesday evening.
Membership is $150, and gets you a bottle each of five barrel-aged releases, an El Catador Club teku glass, and a 10% discount at the taproom and the brewpub. Three of the bottles have been announced: barrel-aged Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout; barrel-aged Caffè Americano Double Stout; and a barrel-aged barley wine.
There were fewer than 500 memberships remaining as of Thursday afternoon, with one day left for previous members to renew. Cigar City said Friday that they would announce the available number Saturday evening.
