Beloved downtown Sarasota craft beer bar The Shamrock will be open special hours for live showings of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Food will be available to purchase from neighbor restaurant Lovin' Spoonful and beer specials will run throughout all the games during the day.

"We're an official U.S. Soccer Bar and have shown the World Cup for several years now so fans of the sport now know this is the place to come and watch the World Cup," said Derek Anderson, owner of the Shamrock, in a statement. "It will definitely get noisy in here so feel free to bring your Vuvuzela and have a great time with all your friends."

11 a.m. to midnight Thursday-Friday; The Shamrock, 2257 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota; free; 952-1730; shamrocksarasota.com.
