mother's dayMother’s Day at Cafe L’Europe (431 St. Armands Circle, Sarasota, 388-4415, cafeleurope.net) starts with an elegant buffet brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $39.95 for adults, $16.95 for children under 12. There will be omelet and carving stations, cheese blintzes, baked brie, smoked salmon and much more. L’Europe will also have a dinner special featuring a lobster tail, seafood risotto, asparagus and carrots, and apple tart for dessert.

Polo Grill and Bar (10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch, 782-0899, pologrillandbar.com) will host a Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $39.95 for adults, $17.95 children under 12 (children 4 and under free). Along with the usual breakfast items, there will also be a seafood bar, seared flank steak, a variety of salads and much more.

Michael’s On East (1212 East Ave., Sarasota, 366-0777, bestfood.com) will have a Mother’s Day brunch with selections ranging from breakfast favorites to crab cakes, oysters Rockefeller, Maryland-style fried chicken and several carving stations. (Menus are subject to change) Cost is $48.95 for adults; $19.95 for children ages 3-10 (children under 2 years free). Regular dinner service also will be available on Mother’s Day from 5 to 8 p.m.

Ziti (3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, 706-1281, zitisarasota.com) is celebrating Mother’s Day with an a la carte brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brunch entrees, which include a complimentary mimosa, range from $11 to $15. Diners may choose raspberry French toast with bacon and fresh fruit, eggs Benedict, sausage and mushroom omelet or steak and eggs. All egg entrees include rosemary parmesan potatoes and assorted mini muffins. Kids may choose French toast with bacon for $5 or bacon and eggs for $6.

Flemings Steakhouse (2001 Siesta Dr., Sarasota, 358-9463, flemingssteakhouse.com) will have a sumptuous Sunday brunch on Sunday and will throw in a $25 gift card for future dining for mom. For $39.95, Diners may chose from lobster bisque, modern Caesar salad or fresh fruits as a starter; then select the restaurant's signature eggs Benedict (with smoked salmon or filet mignon), baked brioche French toast with sausage or prime rib of beef with a trio of sauces. For dessert, Mom might like white chocolate bread pudding, cheese cake or walnut turtle pie. There also is a kid’s menu. Brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Arts and Eats (1114 12th St. W., Bradenton, 201-6647) is presenting a three-course prix fixe menu for $40, with Michael “Sparky” Edelstein providing musical theatre classics and proprietor Donna Slawsky performing her favorite vocals. The dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. and will include potato leek cauliflower soup or green salad; Chef Jim’s fish selection or rack of lamb and a choice of a homemade dessert.

Carmel Café (8433 Cooper Creek Blvd., University Park, 893-5955, carmelcafe.com) will be opening at 10 a.m. on Mother’s Day and each Mom will receive a $10 bonus gift card.

Café Americano (1409 Main St. Sarasota, 365-1026, cafeamericanosrq.com) is presenting a free dessert with dinner and a $20 gift certificate for each Mom.

Jalea (1532 Main St., Sarasota, 955-8272, jaleasarasota.com) is giving Moms a free dessert with lunch or dinner on her day, plus a $15 gift certificate for lunch or dinner.

Re-vel-ry Pub and Grill (3005 University Pkwy., Sarasota, 355-1218, revelrypubandgrill.com) is helping Mom celebrate with a bountiful brunch. Among starters will be Argentinean shrimp salad, scallop and calamari ceviche, salads and curried eggs. Entrees range from beef, chicken or fish selections, plus carved beef and ham to cheesy scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, pancakes, bacon and sausage. For dessert, there is lemon pound cake, apple crumble, peach cobbler, chocolate rum trifle and French picnic cakes, and more. Brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $25, with children 10 and younger $15.

Libby’s Café + Bar (1917 Osprey Ave., Sarasota, 487-7300, libbyscafebar.com) will have a bloody mary and mimosa bar at its Mother’s Day brunch, along with a carving station with prime rib, omelet and bagel stations, plus breakfast items like bacon and sausage, scrambled cheese eggs, biscuits and gravy, blueberry pancakes, waffles and breads. There will be entrees such as country fried chicken; bacon, leek and cheddar quiche; and a four-cheese pear tortellini. The dessert table will include items like banana cream pie, chocolate mousse and crushed Oreo and strawberry shortcake cups.The brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a cost of $35 per person; $14 for kids 12 and under; children three and under free. Drinks, tax and gratuity are additional. Regular dinner service will follow the brunch.
