"Making a Killing: From Bayonet Capitalism To Corporate Plutocracy" — 7 p.m. Thursday (April 24). Local filmmaker Bob Gray will debut his new film at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center, 525 Kumquat Court, Sarasota. The film "traces the history of America's use of military and espionage forces to promote and protect private corporate interests around the globe from Manifest Destiny to the global War on Terror." The film is narrated by Bill Schustik. Gray and many of the voice actors will be on hand for a post-screening discussion. Free and open to the public. 894-6469; wslr.org.

"Imagine" concert — 7 p.m. Thursday (April 24). Under the direction of Jaclyn Cushman, Charlotte High School Vocal Department's final school year concert. Charlotte Performing Arts Center, 701 Carmalita St., Punta Gorda. Free.

Beach Market — 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday (April 27). Every Sunday through July 27, this Coquina Beach event offers fresh produce, arts and crafts, jewelry, local artists, apparel, pottery, purses, collectibles, health and beauty items and more. Suncoast Concert Band — Season finale, 3 p.m. Sunday (April 27). Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3131 61st St., on Lockwood Ridge Road one block south of University Parkway. The 50-member band concludes its 12-concert season with a program of remembrances of places and things past.
