The Sarasota Film festival typically saves the best events for last and this year is no exception. Friday's happenings include the Tribute Luncheon (11 a.m.-1 p.m.; $100) and Cinema Tropicale (8:30-11:30 p.m.; $150), both at the Sarasota Yacht Club, 1100 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota. The latter easily ranks as SFF’s most exciting party, featuring another island-themed serving of live music, first-rate fashion, exotic cuisine and Caribbean cocktails.
The Closing Night Film & Awards is 6 p.m. Saturday at the Sarasota Opera House, 61 N. Pineapple Ave. ($25- $55), followed by the 1137 Party from 11:37 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Louies Modern, 1289 N. Palm Ave. Tickets are $40 and $100 (VIP). For all of our SFF coverage visit arts.heraldtribune.com/sarasota-film-festival.
