Classic rock favorites Kansas and the Atlanta Rhythm Section, as well as movie star Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band have been added to Winterfest. The March 29 music festival will be held at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch. The lineup also includes previously announced artists Rick Derringer, Jeff Cook and the Allstar Goodtime Band, Marty Balin, Ty Herndon, Billy Dean, Les Sabler, Bertie Higgins and Hotel California.
In June, Winterfest organizers announced Edgar Winter, whose hits include “Frankenstein,” would be among the headliners but he is not mentioned in the schedule issued today. Festival organizers also said at the time it would a two-day event.
“There will be 18 total shows over the two days,” Jim Chiaffredo, spokesperson for Winterfest, said in June. “We’re trying to get something from almost every genre so we’re working on a couple of jazz players, pop players, maybe a couple guys in the alternative genre.”
Neither Chiaffredo nor anyone else from Winterfest could be immediately reached for comment today.
