The Manatee County Fair continues through this weekend with another large serving of midway action, fried foods, livestock looking and other fun stuff that should appeal to just about anyone. Country music, fans, though, won't want to miss Marty Stuart's performance Friday at the main stage. One of Nashville's most respected artists, Stuart has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1992 and is on the board of the Country Music Foundation. A gifted guitarist, songwriter and singer whose work includes honky tonk, rockabilly, country-rock, traditional country and bluegrass, Stuart had a nice string of radio hits in the early 1990s with songs like "Little Things," "Hillbilly Rock" and "Tempted."

Today-Sunday with Marty Stuart performing 7:30 p.m. Friday; Manatee County Fairgrounds, 1402 14th Ave. W., Palmetto; $8 for ages 13 and older, $7 for age 55 and older, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, free for kids age 5 and younger; 722-8951 or manatee countyfair.com.
