Cigar City makes big changes for Hunahpu's Day 2014

/

Hunahpu's Imperial StoutTampa craft brewery Cigar City releases its sought-after Hunahpu's Imperial Stout one day a year at the brewery. In just a few years, Hunahpu's Day has become one of the biggest brewery-only releases in the country, drawings thousands of attendees. The festival caps Tampa Bay Beer Week.

For the fifth annual Hunahpu's Day on March 8, 2014, the brewery has announced several major changes to the festival format:

• For the first time Cigar City is capping attendance at 3,500 people.

• You will have to have a ticket to enter the festival this year. In past years there was no admission, and beers were pay as you go. This year, a $50 ticket will allow you to sample as much beer as you'd like. Cigar City will release details on purchasing tickets soon, and says that El Catador Club members will get first access.

• Details on the sale of Hunahpu's bottles are still being determined. I suppose this means your $50 ticket does not include a bottle of the beer. That makes sense, since bottles sold in the past for $20 each.
