Although former Bradenton city councilwoman Marianne Barnebey didn't get elected mayor last fall, she's still the driving force behindĀ  Winter Wonderland, which has been one of The Friendly City's most popular events for nearly two decades. In case you've never experienced this snowy spectacular, Winter Wonderland is an event run on Old Main Street that brings in around 15,000 people and has two large snow slides and one bunny slope using around 20 tons of ice. If you have children, or just want to see snow in the Sunshine State, this is a don't-you-dare-miss-it event. Also, don't forget about the Bradenton Yacht Club's Holiday Boat Parade happening same day, about the same time, same delightful downtown district.

5-9 p.m. Saturday; Old Main Street (aka 12th Street West); Bradenton; free; Facebook page .
