They’re flying at the Manatee Players, which is presenting the family-friendly musical “Peter Pan” for the holiday season.
Anna Trinci, a veteran of many shows, plays the title character, a young boy who decides never to grow up by staying in the magical world of Neverland. Peter is the leader of the Lost Boys, who left their families for a special life of fun and adventure. They playfully battle Indians and try to stay out of the way of the wicked Captain Hook.
Steve Dawson, better known as a performer in the area, is directing the show with choreography by Geena Ravella. The cast includes Greg Wiegers as Captain Hook, Wendy James Brown as Mrs. Darling, Zoë Verbil as Wendy, Garrett Brown and Stevie Romero alternating as John, and Levi Brown and Atticus Pratt alternating performances as the youngest child
The score features such songs as “I Won’t Grow Up,” “Neverland,” “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Got to Crow,” and “Tender Shepherd.”
