Beer: Fancy Lawnmower

Brewery: Saint Arnold Brewing Co., Texas

Notes: Houston craft brewery Saint Arnold will be expanding into Florida's Gulf Coast this month. The brewery sent me a few bottles in advance.

It's called Fancy Lawnmower because the brewery says this German-style Kolsch ale is "light enough to be enjoyed by Texans after strenuous activities, like mowing the lawn."

Pours a light golden color with hardly any head. Light grape-like aroma (the brewery says this comes from the special Kolsch yeast) with a hint of hops.

Nice lightly sweet malt flavor with a crisp hop aftertaste and a hefty body.

A fancy lawnmower beer, indeed. At just under 5 percent alcohol, it would be easy to drink several of these.
