Celebrate Bradenton area restaurants this weekend at the 27th annual Taste of Manatee, which, just for the record, is named after the county — you won't find any sea cow on the menu. The popular event, held again at Bradenton Riverwalk, features 20 local restaurants offering a taste of their top preparations.

There will also be live music all weekend, plus a special children’s stage. And, get this, sports fans, you can enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine at the tiki bar tent, which will have big screens showing football. Another option is taking an eating recess to visit the many arts and crafts booths.

11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday; Bradenton Riverwalk, 452 3rd Ave. W., Bradenton; free; 323-3936; TasteOfManatee.com.
