No Fraud, which formed in Venice in 1982 and have since gained semi-legendary status in the punk/hardcore/thrash scene, are playing a homecoming show Friday at Jake's Tavern. While you may not be able to understand No Fraud singer Dan Destructo's growled vocals (check out the clip below), he has this to say about the meaning of his songs.
"No Fraud’s lyrics have been eerily validated over the past 30 years with the prediction of the U.S. economic woes and tragic involvement in Afghanistan," singer Dan Destructo says in an email. "With more than half of No Fraud’s music coming out overseas, maybe it’s time the U.S. public catches up."
Pagan Faith, Counted Out, Salvation, Fortitude and Threshold are also scheduled to perform Friday at Jake's Tavern.
8 p.m. Friday; Jake’s Tavern, 3218 Clark Road, Sarasota; $7; 921-6875.
