John Fogerty, the Creedence Clearwater Revival mastermind with a new hit solo album, performs Sunday at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa as part of a national tour that started October 10 in Los Angeles.

Fogerty’s album, "Wrote a Song for Everyone," recently entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at No. 3, marking the Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s highest-debuting album of his career (including Creedence Clearwater Revival releases). In addition, this is Fogerty’s highest charting record since 1985’s "Centerfield" hit No. 1.

The album is a fine celebration of Fogerty's songbook, featuring him singing and playing guitar with the likes of the Foo Fighters, Miranda Lambert and My Morning Jacket on smartly recast songs he originally recorded with CCR or solo. Fogerty also debuts two solid new songs, "Mystic Highway" and "Train of Fools."

But in concert on his current tour, Fogerty says he will be doing something many longtime fans will find even cooler. He's performing the classic CCR albums "Bayou Country" and "Cosmos's Factory" in their entirety for the first time ever in the U.S. See video below.

Also, there's always a chance that the always ready to mix it up Fogerty will bring a special guest on stage. On Thursday (October 17), ZZ Top guitarist and singer Billy Gibbons joined Fogerty in Tulsa, Okla., where both were performing sold-out shows at The Joint. They teamed up on the CCR classic “Born on the Bayou” and ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man.” See videos posted below..

“The all-too-brief session will stand as one of the tallest highlights that's come down the pike in quite a while. Wow!” says ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons in a statement. “’Twuz killer diller. John & Co. certainly were on top of their game and the bonus of participation is quite the reward.”
