International Beer Festival at Lakewood Ranch

People drink, listen to live music and celebrate Halloween by dressing up during International Beer Festival at Lakewood Ranch Main Street. HERALD-TRIBUNE ARCHIVES

Any self-respecting party person can't go through October without attending at least one or three beer festivals and Lakewood Ranch has one of the best in the area. Credit the winning combination of brews, food, costume contest and live music. The Manatee County community's annual International Beer Festival is Saturday on Main Street with Gold Coast Eagle Distributing is providing all of the beer. There will be food from local Lakewood Ranch restaurants, as well as a variety of fine wines, available for purchase. Wear your best Halloween costume to take part in the $500 costume contest while popular radio personality Mike "Cowhead" Calta's band Pitbull Toddler supplies the live music.

Here is the deal on tickets: Bronze level – $25, includes unlimited craft and specialty samples; Silver level – $35, includes unlimited craft and specialty samples and full 16 oz. domestics; and VIP –$65, includes a one-hour pre-party at Polo Grill with unlimited food, select seasonal and craft beers, unlimited craft and specialty samples and full 16 oz. domestics in a collectible Tervis Tumbler. Part of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Humane Society of Manatee County.
