Circus City Architectural Salvage, one of Sarasota's top new shopping spots for funky home decor, has planned a series of “Big Top Benefits” starting with an event Thursday to help raise money for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. Attendees are invited to enjoy food from area restaurants as well as beer and wine while local favorite Big Night Out performs its tropical-style dance music. The suggested donation is $10 at the door, and all funds raised will go to colitis and Crohn’s disease research.

Featuring 6,000 square feet of shopping space in an antique structure with exposed brick walls, Circus City is an ideal party spot and all merchandise will be marked 10 percent off Thursday.

“Come have fun with us in our beautiful, historic building and help us raise awareness for a good cause,” says Circus City owner Greg Pemberton, who opened the store in May, in a statement. “Our ‘Big Top Benefits’ are opportunities to connect with the community and showcase our amazing venue.”

6-9 p.m. Thursday; Circus City Architectural Salvage; 1001 Central Ave., Sarasota, 941-866-2500; facebook.com/circuscitysalvage.
