Plant City's Two Henrys Brewing Co. offers beer for life

/

Two Henrys Brewing Co. logoTwo Henrys Brewing Co. is set to open in Plant City on Saturday with a festival at 5210 W. Thonotosassa Road. Named after Henry Plant and Henry Flagler, two men who helped make Florida what it is today (two counties bear their names), the craft brewery says it will distribute around Tampa Bay starting this month.

OK, so they have a cool name that appeals to history geeks. What really piqued my interest is their Founders Club, which offers 200 members beer for life.

For a fee of (gulp) $1,000 you get a custom mug that's kept at the tasting room, which can be filled free once per day for the rest of your life. Daily refills are discounted. You also get a 32-ounce growler, which will be filled free once a week for life. Members also get early access to seasonal beers, discounts on bottles and cans and merchandise, and more.

Members-only clubs are popular in the craft beer world (Cigar City has one) because they give beer geeks special treats and give breweries a bunch of cash for beer they haven't even brewed.

If you live in Plant City and have some cash lying around, I think a membership could really pay off, assuming the brewery's beers are any good and it doesn't quickly go out of business. Assuming a mug sells for $5, you'd make your money back in less than a year of daily visits.
