Singer/songwriter Brett Eldredge's debut album "Bring You Back" came out in August and shot to No. 2 on Billboard's Country Albums chart (and just missed the Top 10 pop survey), thanks to the smash single "Don't Ya." Eldredge coauthored the mid-tempo song about the guy with a serious crush on a woman playing the role of reluctant lover.

Reportedly a fan of Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles, Eldredge is a gifted crooner with much better phrasing than most of today's Nashville vocalists. In fact, the title-track, a pathos-packed ballad, could easily be Eldredge's next big hit. Not so much because the song has a memorable melody or tells a great story, but the vocal is as pleasing as it is convincing.

7 p.m. Saturday; Joyland, 5520 14th St. W., Bradenton; $10 (advance); $15 (at the door); 756-6060;
