Three original plays by local playwrights will be featured in the Manatee Playreading Festival, coordinated by actor and director Dylan Jones.
The series, which gives each play two performances on Fridays and Saturdays, runs Sept. 6-21 in the Small Theater at the Manatee School for the Arts, 700 Haben Blvd., Palmetto.
The series opens Sept. 6 and 7 with "Madison's Father" by David F. Smith. It will be followed Sept. 13 and 14 by "The Cabbie" by Delia Revard and on Sept. 20 and 21 by "Not Our Time" by Bernie Yanelli.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by an audience talkback. A donation of $5 is suggested.
