The Blue Rooster has booked a smart, exciting triple bill for Saturday. It's three of the finest Americana acts in Florida, with each one bringing something singular to the genre marked by organic music that recalls classic recordings by acts ranging from Bob Dylan and The Band to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Roadkill Ghost Choir, from DeLand, bring a 1990s alternative rock edge to the folk formula while Orlando-based Thomas Wynn & The Believers are purveyors of a more sinewy brand of roots rock.
Bradenton-based Have Gun Will Travel, which has been creating as much buzz for their tasty High Road Ale lately as their terrific music, perform melodic folk-rock. It's marked by the gripping lyrics and emotive vocals of singer-songwriter Matt Burke. Chances are, HGWT will be performing some material from their album "Fiction, Fact or Folktale," due out Sept. 10.
