For the second time in a week at a Sarasota theater, illness forced some rearranging of a performance.
Florida Studio Theatre canceled one weekend performance of the Kander and Ebb revue "The World Goes Round" and presented three others without one of the five cast members. Actor/singer Peter Gosik suffered some vocal problems and was unable to perform, a theater spokeswoman said. She said that Gosik also would miss the June 11 performance, and present a four-performer version of the show.
The Saturday matinee was canceled to give the other cast members time to restage some of the choreography and adapt the show to go on without Gosik.
A similar problem happened at Asolo Repertory Theatre where dancer Frances Bradley injured her knee, leading to restaging several numbers in the world premiere of "Noah Racey's Pulse." Last week, the theater replaced Bradley with Melinda Sullivan.
FST also has extended the run of "The World Goes Round," with performances now continuing through June 29.
