We The Kings, the Bradenton-based band with an international following, just announced a July 6 concert at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. It's part of the pop-punk quintet's Summer Fest tour that features opening acts Breathe Carolina, T. Mills and The Ready Set. Tickets are $20, go on sale at noon Friday (May 24) and can be purchased online through St. Pete-based Daddy Kool.

We the Kings performed last month during the inaugural Funshine Music Festival in Tampa and treated fans to the hit new single "Just Keep Breathing." It's a song that finds Travis Clark, the band's singer, songwriter and guitarist recalling nights when he was “too sad to sleep” before reminding his many listeners, which range from tweens to twentysomethings, that they’re not alone.

“It’s a song I’ve been waiting to write for a long time,” Clark told me for this Ticket cover story. “Growing up as a redhead it was hard to fit in, kids were mean and bullied me during a good part of my childhood.

“This was a song I’ve been holding in for a long time, a song capturing how I felt, that feeling I had and what I had to do to get through it all. It has helped a lot of our fans. I’ve already heard amazing compliments, people saying how things are so much better now because they realize they’re not the only one going through something like this.”
