Little Giant update: Planned Bradenton brewery reveals new location

/

Michael Wagner on second floorIt's been a long time coming, but Little Giant Brewery is hoping to open at 301 Seventh St. E. in Bradenton, according to brewer Michael Wagner.

It's been a long road for Wagner and Little Giant. I first profiled him in 2010, back when he was brewing in a garage on Anna Maria Island. He then moved near Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, then moved near McKechnie Field. That move landed him on the cover of Beeradvocate magazine, and he hoped to open last summer.

That site didn't work out, so Wagner has moved again, to Seventh Street East. Who knows when he will open?

In a Facebook post, Wagner asked people to come to the Bradenton Planning Commission hearing Wednesday and show their support for his license application.

If everyone's plans work out, Little Giant would be joined in Bradenton by another production brewery: Motorworks Brewing. Also, there are two planned production breweries in Sarasota County: JDub's Brewing Co. and Darwin Brewing Co.
