Anna Maria Island has way too many quality restaurants to visit in a single day, weekend or even week; which is why Saturday's event is one of the more exciting to take place this year on the 7-mile key off Manatee County. A great way to survey the island's many destination spots in a single stop, the 3rd annual Food and Wine on Pine event returns to Pine Avenue in the City of Anna Maria with culinary selections from more than 25 locally owned and independent restaurants, at least 30 wines plus craft and domestic beers.

Saturday's family-friendly cultural and culinary celebration will also feature 40 juried artists, art demonstrations, more than 30 musical acts and actors depicting characters from Anna Maria's history. In addition, there will be a Children's Art and Activity Area and the annual "sliming" of CrossPointe Fellowship Pastor Ed Moss and the Children's Artist Tent.

Entrance to the event is free with wine glasses and plates available for purchase for $3. Tickets for food and beverages are $1 each. Most items will be priced between 2 and 8 tickets. Event parking at the Anna Maria Island Community Center and at Crosspoint Fellowship church is free with complimentary trolley rides to Pine Avenue.

Event proceeds will go to benefit local art and children’s charities such as the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra, Anna Maria Island Community Center, Cultural Connections, the Artists Guild of Anna Maria Island, the Anna Maria Island Historical Society and Anna Maria Island Preservation Trust.

Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key restaurateur Ed Chiles (Sandbar, Beachhouse, Mar Vista) established Food and Wine on Pine to showcase the variety of sustainable seafood and produce local independent restaurants use, highlight the art and culture of Anna Maria island and to support local art and children’s charities.
