Farah Bala, who had a starring role in Florida Studio Theatre’s new production of “In the Book Of,” has been replaced in the production.
The theater announced April 2 that Bala will be replaced by Sarah Stockton, a graduate of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory, who starred in the company’s 2009 production of “Blackbird.”
Bala was "released from her contract" on April 1, said Artistic Director Richard Hopkins. “Simply stated, ‘we didn’t have a fit.' I believe this decision to be necessary to reinvigorate and grow the FST production of 'In the Book Of'," he said.
Bala was making her debut at the Sarasota theater in the play that officially opened March 29.
"In the Book Of" continues through May 26 in the Gompertz Theatre, 1247 First St., Sarasota. For more information: 366-9000; floridastudiotheatre.org
