Diana Krall, the Canadian pop-jazz songstress who owns two Grammy Awards, will play to a full house April 4 at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota.
The Van Wezel informed Ticket today that the Sarasota favorite has already sold out all 1,743 seats with tickets priced at $30 to $115.
The wife of rock great Elvis Costello, Krall has been delighting audiences for the past two decades with her smoke and honey contralto; rich, pre-bop piano playing and ability to smartly choose and interpret jazz and pop chestnuts from the past.
Krall’s latest album, the critically acclaimed Top 10 pop hit “Glad Rag Doll,” finds her teaming with super producer T-Bone Burnett on a collection of songs that mostly date back to the 1920s and ’30s.
Last month, Krall had to cancel a couple concerts due to a respiratory infection.
"I was so sad to cancel my shows in Buffalo NY and Kingston Ontario," reads the statement on Krall's website. "I want to thank everyone who has sent such lovely get well wishes and for being so understanding, it means so much. See you in April Buffalo and Kingston!"
