It has been nearly a decade since OutKast released its mainstream-rocking masterpiece “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.”

Rapper Big Boi continues making music a priority while rapper/singer/multi-instrumentalist André 3000 makes the occasional music cameo; preferring to pursue an acting career that should soon see him on the big screen, or at least TV, playing Jimi Hendrix in the biopic “All is By My Side.”

So for those of us who miss OutKast like we miss being carefree teenagers causing trouble in our corner of The Dirty South, Big Boi is as good as it gets, for now at least.

When the Atlanta MC performs Saturday at The Ritz Ybor he will be promoting his second solo album “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors,” an experimental, genre-hopping and guest packed affair that mostly works, but ultimately leaves longtime fans wishing André 3000 would complete the ’Kast.

8 p.m. Saturday (March 23), The Ritz Ybor, 1503 E. 7th Ave., Tampa; $18.50; (813) 247-2555; theritzybor.com.
