A weekend of folk music at Oscar Scherer park

Sarasota-based Passerine and fellow Florida acts Sam Pacetti and Michelle & Scott Dalziel and Cayman Islands duo Hi Tide headline this weekend's Sarasota Folk & Acoustic Music Festival at Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey.

In addition to workshops and jam tents, food and craft vendors and family-friendly activities, there will be three stages of music.

The lineup includes Mindy Simmons, Myakka, Ishmael Katz, The Ashley Gang, Bing Futch, Brian Smalley, Camille Dupree & Broken Fetter, Carly Bak, Carolyn Dunn, Charlie Morris & Opossum Hollow, Charley Groth, Dan Stevens, Dawg Peter Pat, Mathew Sabatella & The Rambling String Band ... to name a few.

Gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday (March 23-24).

Tickets (includes park entrance fee), at the gate: Saturday only (11 a.m.-5 p.m.), $20; Saturday and evening concert (11 a.m.-10 p.m.), $27; Saturday night concert only, $12; Sunday (11 a.m.-5 p.m.), $12; weekend pass, $35. Discount tickets are available online. Children 15 and under are free.
