Paul Duffy and Michial Hickmott

Local Irish musicians Paul Duffy, Michial Hickmott and Greg Holt are tuning up their instruments for a St. Patrick’s Day with an early tribute this weekend. Singer and guitarist Duffy is well-known around the area as a serious Irish musician who once toured with The Commitments, as well as a once-owner of the much-missed Irish Rover in Gulf Gate. He’ll be accompanied by Hickmott on the Irish drum and Holt on the fiddle as they celebrate Irish folk songs and sea chanties.
4 p.m. Sunday; Unitarian Universalist Church, 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota; $15; 371-4974, uusarasota.org/concerts.

Awesome, baby. Wish they'd come to Bradenton Beach. My sister, Kathleen, and I, will be celebrating St.Paddy's Day, and our Grandmother, Mary Cassidy's, birthday.
