Bill to legalize 64-ounce beer growlers is filed in Florida Senate

Following the filing of a bill in the Florida House to legalize 64-ounce beer growlers in the Sunshine State, a companion bill has been filed in the Senate today.

Sen. Jack Latvala, R-Clearwater, is the sponsor of the measure, SB 1344, which has identical language to its House counterpart, HB 715.

Latvala's district includes many craft breweries that would benefit from the change, which would bring Florida in line with the growler size that's standard in the rest of the country.

Tampa's Cigar City Brewing has been a big supporter of the effort to legalize 64-ounce growlers, and produced a short video on the subject:

This development gives me further hope that the measure might pass this year, after failing in the past.
