Celebration of Life for Dan Toler to be held March 9

towsend toler dan single picThe public has been invited to celebrate the life of Dan Toler, the beloved guitar great who died Monday at his home in Manatee County, on March 9 at Faith Presbyterian Church in Sarasota.

"We are trying to get a good idea of the number of people coming," reads the Facebook event page created late Tuesday. "Everyone is invited to celebrate the life of our brother Dan!!"

Nicknamed “Dangerous Dan,” Toler’s by turns fiery and fluid guitar playing can be heard on acclaimed albums by the Allman Brothers Band, Gregg Allman Band and Dickey Betts & Great Southern.

 

A Celebration of Life for Dan Toler will take place 1 p.m. March 9 at Faith Sarasota, 1201 N. Beneva Road; (941) 955-7074; faithsarasota.org

such an influence on so many musicians. dan created the desire to carry on the tradition of southern rock and blues. he will be missed- esp. in the sarasota area. rest easy my friend. well all be with you someday.
