Cookie Swap: Share your recipes, win fame and fortune

/

Associated Press

There is no bigger, or more tasty, holiday tradition than cookies. Whether you dole them out as family treats, give them to friends and co-workers as brightly wrapped edible presents or have them on hand for guests (especially the jolly man himself), cookies are a universal favorite no matter how you celebrate this season.

We all have our favorites, passed down by parents and grandparents, written on notecards and emailed from empty-nesters to children scattered across the country. Some opt for elaborate decorations on simple butter- and sugar-batter, while others tie us to the cultures of our ancestors.

The only unifying thread is that they taste great and evoke happy memories of holidays past.

But just because we all have our own cookie traditions doesn’t mean we’re not willing, even eager, to add a few new recipes to our annual holiday baking schedule. And the best way to do that is an old-fashioned cookie swap. We want your recipes.

What’s your reward for sharing your treasured cookie classics with us, besides the pleasure of spreading some seasonal joy? A small serving of fame and fortune can be yours!

We’ll put all of the recipes online at ticketsarasota.com/cookies, and publish some of the best in the pages of Food & Wine in coming weeks. We’ll also let readers vote for their favorites online, with prizes for the winners, drawn from our large library of stockpiled cookbooks. Keep them for your kitchen library, or give them to friends for the holidays.

Submit your recipes below and share the joy.
