Recover from Thanksgiving with Cigar City at Mr. Beery's

/

Happy Thanksgiving!

If you're like me, you are probably stuffing yourself with lots of wonderful food today. I think I'll need to take it easy for a couple of days after the meal.

Craft beer bar Mr. Beery's is offering a way to recover: Drink some special beers from Tampa's Cigar City Brewing on Saturday, starting at 3 p.m. They will be serving a ton of beers from CCB; I'm thinking the only time they served more was the epic tap takeover in 2011.

For this event, the bar will have six drafts:

• Peach Jai Alai IPA

• Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Brown Ale

• Cinnamon Apple Brown Ale

Good Gourd pumpkin ale

• Dry-Hopped End Of Summer Pale Ale

• Vanilla Maduro Brown Ale

In addition, they will have the following CCB bottles:

• Humidor Jai Alai IPA

Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout

• Big Sound Scotch Ale

• Batch 69 Double Cream Ale

Cucumber Saison (which just won a medal at the Great American Beer Festival)

They will have all four of the beers CCB puts in cans: Jai Alai IPA, Maduro Brown Ale, Hotter Than Helles Lager and Florida Cracker Witbier.

And last, but not least, they will be serving Jai Alai infused with pineapple chunks.

Further details are on Mr. Beery's Facebook event page.

Awesome! CCB is probably my favorite brewer overall. Can't wait to head up to Beery's after watching a little football. Ive always wanted to try the vanilla Maduro, and the peach IPA and cinnamon apple sound good too. And of course anything in the infusinator is worth trying!

Andy, thanks for the comment! I've had Peach Jai Alai and it's great. Let me know what your favorites were from the event.

The vanilla Maduro was exactly what I expected and that's a GOOD thing!! I love Maduro and the vanilla made an excellent pairing to its bold taste. Also I was pleasantly surprised by the peach Jai Alai. It was very flovorful but not overpowering. The pineapple infused Jai Alai didn't have a huge pineapple flavor and was just kind of like a Jai Alai light. Lastly, the end of summer hop ale was a solid addition to my sampler! I realized when I got there that I had tried the cinnamon apple ale at their tasting room earlier in the year so I didn't have that one. Also, I brought home a 750ml of the Batch 69, can't wait to try it!

Thanks to Mr Beerys, a very enjoyable craft beer bar, for this CCB event!
