Restaurant News: White Buffalo Saloon opens

The new White Buffalo Saloon (5377 McIntosh Rd., 941-927-6655, whitebuffalosaloon.com) is the embodiment of a “country” venue, featuring a full comfort menu, live country music, dancing and an impressive bar.

Owners Mike and Steve Evanoff, who also established several Evie’s Taverns in the area, had a large new facility constructed with a 200-square-foot dance floor. A soft opening with a limited menu will be followed by a grand opening in January.

The rustic saloon setting showcases wagon wheel and antler light fixtures, corral-style doors, an innovative bar embedded with barbed wire and branding and an eight-foot white buffalo that represents a time of abundance and plentiful offerings.

The American comfort food includes pizzas and wings at the bar, chicken and ribs smoked on the premises, meatloaf and catfish, among other entrees. There are also burgers, sandwiches, sides and rich desserts.

White Buffalo Saloon is open Wednesday through Sunday with “Hungry Hour” from 4 to 7 p.m.; dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. and customers 21 or older from 10 to 2 p.m.
