The Ritz Carlton (1111 Ritz Carlton Dr., SARASOTA, 309-2000, facebook.com/JackDustySarasota) will unveil its new seafood restaurant, lounge and market place – Jack Dusty – in January. The modern gathering place will feature coastal cuisine and crafted cocktails in a sea-side setting.

Jack Dusty is derived from the sailor who was responsible for meticulously maintaining the inventory of the ship’s rum and food stores. Today, “Jack Dusty” is a symbol of camaraderie and community, festively joining together to enjoy a good meal and drink.

The new restaurant is anticipated to be an energetic dining room and bustling bar with décor inspired by the sand and sky. Splendid views of the Bay through panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows and an expansive terrace for al fresco dining will be reminiscent of a Sarasota beach house. Reclaimed oak floors, varied levels of tabletops, and creative elements such as a mural patterned after shifting sands and sculptured brass mesh will add to the artistic ambiance.

Jack Dusty’s menu will focus on a variety of seafood classics, modern composed plates, distinctive sides and an exceptional mixology program. Whether cocktails, food-to-go, wine flights or a sit-down dinner, Jack Dusty is expected to offer less formal choices for dining at the Ritz.
