The second International Beer Festival at Lakewood Ranch is Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. along Lakewood Ranch Main Street. The festival is open to all ages, but of course you have to be 21 to gain access to the alcohol.

This festival is sponsored by Gold Coast Eagle Distributing and will feature the many craft beers in their portfolio, including Green Flash, Southern Tier and Florida Avenue.

There are three levels of tickets available, according to the festival:

Bronze level – $25, includes unlimited craft and specialty samples; Silver level – $35, includes unlimited craft and specialty samples and full 16 oz. domestics; and VIP –$65, includes a one-hour pre-party at Polo Grill with unlimited food, select season and craft beers, unlimited craft and specialty samples and full 16 oz. domestics in a collectible Tervis Tumbler.

Bronze and Silver level tickets rise by $10 each if purchased on the day of the festival. VIP tickets are presale only.

Food from local restaurants will be available for purchase, and Pitbull Toddler will provide the entertainment.

If you want to drink but don't want beer (why?), wine will be available for purchase. There will also be a $500 costume contest.

Part of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Manatee County.

Is not the idea of a beer festival for various brewers to exhibit their finest. It appears to me that your idea is for a distributor to exhibit their finest. Why not just go to a local bar? Basically a con - but whatever if people are willing to pay to drink Stella rather than locally produced beer then that's their loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
