Beer review: Swamp Head Saison du Swamp

Swamp Head Saison du Swamp (Staff photo / Alan Shaw)

Beer: Saison du Swamp

Brewery: Swamp Head, Gainesville

Notes: Fermented at ambient temperatures during the summer, the taste is dry and citric, due to the use of orange peel, coriander and grains of paradise. Refreshing and easy to drink, with notes of grass and the great outdoors. I can't say it's worth $18 a bottle -- try instead the excellent (and cheaper) Saison Dupont.

I loved it. It was just so fruity and spicy and complex. Also have had it on tap, not as good as in the bottle but still quite tasty. It's hard to beat Dupont, but this one does, in my opinion.
