Gloria Musicae sets auditions

/

Gloria Musicae, Sarasota's all-professional vocal chamber ensemble, will hold auditions for all voice parts for its 2011-2012 season from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 15 and 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18.

Auditions are by appointment only.

The ensemble is directed by Dr. Joseph Holt, formerly associate conductor of the Choral Arts Society of Washington, D.C., director of choral activities at American University and principal pianist for the United States Army Chorus.

All positions in the chorus are paid; rehearsals are held on Monday evenings beginning Oct. 17.

Gloria Musicae was founded in 1979. Its repertoire spans four centuries and often focuses on little-known works of value in order to broaden the public's knowledge and appreciation of choral music.

To schedule an audition, email Executive Director Rachel Assi at rassi@gloriamusicae.org or call (551) 206-3919.
