Does Siesta Key top your list of favorite beaches?

Siesta Key is not only the best beach in Florida, it is the very best in all of the United States. So declared Florida International University professor Steven Leatherman, also known as “Dr. Beach," in his annual ranking, released today (May 27).

But in Southwest Florida, Siesta Key Beach has plenty of company. Sure, it is hard to match Siesta's brilliant white sand. But some natives prefer the more laidback Turtle Beach, the ancient shark teeth found on Venice Beach or the great views of Coquina Beach.
