Could New Belgium's Fat Tire be coming to Florida?

/

I get asked a lot about where to buy New Belgium Brewing's Fat Tire ale in Florida. Sadly, New Belgium, from Fort Collins, Colo., doesn't distribute to Florida. Georgia gets their beers, though.

Well, I missed the January announcement that the brewery is expanding into Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., in September.

And yesterday brought the news that New Belgium is considering building a second brewery in the east.

This is promising news for Florida, as an eastern brewery would make it much easier for us to get New Belgium's beers. Of course, at this point it's just just speculation on my part.

Jason, since writing this post, New Belgium has started construction on a brewery in North Carolina. I hope this means Florida will get their beers. I'll certainly write about it if they make a decision to come here.
