What stars?

/

For those of you who couldn't stomach watching "The Bachelor" last night just to catch the reveal of this year's "Dancing with the Stars" cast (count me as one), let me just say that we didn't miss much.

2011 cast "Dancing with the Stars"

The lineup is decidedly lacking in star -- or even recognition -- power. I mean, seriously, is this the best recruiting one of the top-rated shows in the nation can do? Admittedly, I can be a little dense about following the celebrity spotlight, but I had to Google over half the cast to even figure out who they were.

In case you haven't already done your own Googling, here they are:

Hines Ward: Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver

Ralph Maccio: Original "Karate Kid"

Romeo: Rap artist

Sugar Ray Leonard:  Boxer (OK, I knew that one)

Kirstie Alley: "Cheers" actress known for battling her weight (Ditto)

Chris Jericho: Professional wrestler

Wendy Williams: Talk show hostess

Kendra Wilkinson: Playboy model

Chelsea Kane: Disney Channel actor

"Psycho" Mike Catherwood: Co-host of radio program, "Loveline"

My interest in DWTS which, as a former ballroom competitor myself, was once as frenzied as I get over any television show, has been waning in recent years and I'm not sure this year's contestants are going to help. If they're going to choose little-knowns, why not just take Joe Schmoe off the street. Now that 's something I would watch!

What do you think of this year's cast?
