Brewpub coming to downtown Sarasota

/

I've been hearing that a brewpub, a restaurant that brews its own beer, was coming to Sarasota.

A sign of deliciousness to come? One can hope. (photo by Kat)

It's true. Mad Crow Brewery and Grill will open at the site of the old Rustic Grill at Fourth Street and Kumquat Court downtown.

I went by the place (it's on the Kumquat Court side of the building) this week -- nobody was there  -- and saw that they have some of the brewing equipment installed, but it looks like it might be a while before they open.

This is exciting news. Mad Crow would be the second brewpub in Sarasota County after the Sarasota Brewing Co. in Gulf Gate.

Jetta, I drove by today and it looks like a different suite in the building is for sale. Mad Crow is around the corner close to Station 400. Looks like they're still working on the place.

I hope they get the kind of loyal following they had up here.
