A sweet release: Bitches Brew

/

Mr. Beery's is having a special event Wednesday night to celebrate the release of Bitches Brew, Dogfish Head's creation commemorating the 40th anniversary of its namesake Miles Davis album.

DFH describes the brew as "a bold, dark beer that's a fusion of three threads imperial stout and one thread honey beer with gesho root, a gustatory analog to Miles' masterpiece."

Sounds delicious to me. I do love my stouts, and I love my beer a bit weird.

A couple of lucky NPR bloggers said the beer is smoother and less abrasive than the Jazz fusion album itself. But they certainly seemed to enjoy it.

You can experience the beer (from a keg, no less!) and the music on Wednesday at Mr. Beery's. The event starts at 8 p.m. Bottles of the limited-release beer will be for sale, and copies of the remastered version of the album will be raffled off.
